Installation
Instructions
Tools needed:
Portable drill, 1/8” drill bit, chamfer
bit, tape measure, pencil, Philips
screwdriver or Phillips tip for use on
drill, and 3/32” allen wrench.
- Decide on the area you wish to
install the Dockaway. If on a fiberglass
boat the area should have solid backing
under the surface for mounting the
bracket. If this is not possible, you
will need to use other fasteners then
the screws provided, such as screws and
nuts.
- Have the boat a safe distance from
the dock (approximately 6 to 8 inches
away) or more if desired and mark the
area you will install the brackets.
- Remove the brackets from the rods and
place the brackets in the marked areas
(boat surface and dock) and mark the
holes for drilling.
- Drill all holes with 1/8” drill bit
and chamfer the holes in the fiberglass
so it will not crack when inserting the
screws provided.
- Mount the brackets and install the
rod assembly. Make any adjustments by
sliding the adjusting blocks on the
rods. Make sure all the screws are
securely tightened.
Please Note: Dock lines must be used
in conjunction with the Dockaway.
